Description:  

P/T Driving School Instructor $20/hour 20+ hours/week

Teach teens and adults to drive and learn some office administrative skills to assist on occasion with scheduling. Must be calm, patient and supportive of each student’s needs and recognize what steps to take to help them develop skills and confidence. Must be able to clearly articulate instructions to student and at the end of lesson provide progress report and strategy for continued improvement to student and/or parent or guardian. For the right person this is a unique, challenging and rewarding job. Currently, work schedules very flexible. When students return to normal school schedules (post COVID), applicant must be available on weekends, some holidays and after school hours on weekdays.

Requirements:  

Must have a High School diploma, and a clean DMV record speak and write English clearly. Must complete training requirements provided before hiring. Must complete and pay for required DMV Occupational Licensing application ($31), DMV medical ($120) and fingerprinting ($60). Compensation for out of pocket expenses will be provided once licensed and complete 250 hours of work. Prior professional driving experience or background with DMV or law enforcement helpful but not required. Must be mature, reliable, able to work with minimal supervision and dedicated to teaching driving safety. Well groomed, good hygiene, casual, clean attire. Training vehicle with brake on instructor side will be provided. Smoke free campus.

Description:  

Sonoma Media Investments (SMI) is seeking an Events and Local Partnerships Director to join our marketing team. This position focuses on producing events & activities, with desired attendance and quality. In addition, this position will help develop and fulfill local partnerships/sponsorships within the communities we serve, based on our brand and business objectives.      

THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Develop, plan, and produce highly profitable and well organized events (virtual and in–person events) in conjunction with the brand and business strategies of the SMI Executive team.  
  • Responsible for steering event marketing through various media and communication platforms, and driving attendance.
  • Responsible for insuring our presence at B to B conferences and networking events is well organized, proactive and in alignment with our branding and business goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring all appropriate required permits for events are received and SMI is in compliance of all laws for events we are hosting and/or participating.
  • Effective expense budget management of our events and event participation.
  • Responsible for contract negotiation of memberships and vendors.
  • Works in conjunction with the CRO on sponsorship benefits & packages, and with the sales team on negotiations of sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Responsible for determining what events and non-profits we will align our brand with and support, including negotiating and our fulfillment of all local partnerships agreements.
  • Develops and maintains effective relations with key sponsors, suppliers, support vendors, non-profits and speakers.
  • Discover, Investigate and develop new event or partnership/sponsorship opportunities for consideration, with an eye on our future and positioning our company as a thought leader of innovation and the premier source of local trusted news and information in Sonoma County.
  • Supervise an event coordinator and an admin staff member who will assist you, and the Celebrate Community program manager. The admin staff member will be responsible for assisting with event organization, communication, ad fulfilment, etc.
  • Provides and promotes the highest level of customer service and inter-personal, inter-departmental and intra-departmental relations at SMI.

Requirements:  
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred. Or a minimum of 4 years of experience with successful multiple event planning and coordination. 
  • Demonstrated past success in a comparable position is a plus.
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.

§   Become knowledgeable and conversant in all aspects of LandPaths’ mission, values, strategic plan, preserves and community programs;

§   Develop and deepen through active listening and mutual understanding, relationships to engage and expand student, parent, teacher and volunteer participation, advancing LandPaths’ youth program goals;

§   Maintain all field day necessities (logistics, safety, gear, etc.) needed for program, including tracking gear inventory and storage;

§   Under the guidance of the Program Manager and Senior Field Specialist, work as part of a team to facilitate field day program, including pre-program task of assessing site conditions and preparation, leading large and small groups of youth, parents and teachers, and post-program tracking and evaluation;

§   Assist in the communication and coordination of volunteers in all day-of activities.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

A successful candidate will likely have significant experience leading youth programs, including the following qualifications:  

§   A genuine passion for rooting youth in nature and for equity in access to nature;

§   Experience working with youth and leading groups;

§   Comfort and confidence in the outdoors;

§   Experience implementing specifically designed curriculum and able to engage youth in fun camp games, crafts, songs, storytelling, and unstructured play and exploration in nature;

§   Detail oriented, well organized;

§   Strong communication skills: articulate with proven ability to write effectively and speak persuasively, willing to have difficult conversations to build community;

§   Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) and having a significant cross-cultural experience or understanding;
