Nuestra Comunidad (NC) is a Sonoma County-based nonprofit focused on disaster preparedness for all, with an emphasis on under-served communities including our Spanish speaking population and low-income seniors. SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
NC is hiring a full-time non-exempt COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & OUTREACH SPECIALIST, bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred, who will support NC’s programs. This individual will work under the direction of the Community Engagement & Outreach Manager to assist with and coordinate programs, community events and activities, leadership opportunities for youth and adults and implement outreach strategies to successfully reach our program goals.
Community Programs Focus Areas Currently Include: Disaster Preparedness, 9-1-1 Education, Youth Leadership and Resilience, Wellness, and Mental Health.

SALARY LEVEL: $20.00 to $25.00/Hourly Competitive Benefits Package Offered
REPORTS TO: Community Engagement & Outreach Manage
HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours non-exempt. Some weekends and evenings required as local events, conferences and community fairs occur.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITIES:
Leadership
- Serve as part of the organization’s team and a core part in implementing NC’s mission as well as establishing a healthy work environment.
Provide supervision, and to training program volunteers. Represent NC in meetings related to our programs in an effort to continue developing strong partnerships with local organizations and/or stakeholders. Data Management
- Responsible for collecting and entering data into the database to better track data and program effectiveness.
Develop mechanisms to collect and incorporate “participant feedback” and measure program success. Work closely with Community Engagement & Outreach Manager in collecting, and managing data and creating custom reports for grants, stakeholders, and NC staff. Program Delivery
- Assists in developing and maintaining community engagement programs.
Assist in creating, facilitating, and coordinating a robust youth engagement strategy that incorporates a peer-to-peer model & creates youth engagement opportunities. Develop effective communications strategies to outreach to community members and other stakeholders. Support with planning, production & execution of events. Seek out opportunity for growth and continued skill building around community development and external at-large communication. In collaboration with other NC staff, contribute to a consistent social media and external communications strategy by presenting ideas for relevant and compelling information on NC’s messaging, programs, and events. Represent NC though outreach participation in community events and networking. Assist in supporting social media efforts and campaigns on all platforms that Nuestra Comunidad uses to reach our target populations.

This position holds regular office hours at our location 5510 Skylane Blvd. Suite 200A, Santa Rosa CA 95492, and our office located in Cloverdale at 117A Cloverdale Blvd. North, Cloverdale, CA 95425, or at off-site locations as events and activities require.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The position may require travel to various locations throughout Sonoma County, neighboring Counties and on occasion out of state.
OTHER DUTIES:
NC is an organization that is active during disasters. Members of our team may be activated during a disaster and asked to carry out a role in disaster response as outlined in our Continuity of Operations (COOP).
